Franco Manca’s Greenwich pizzeria is located just opposite the lovely covered market and just around the corner from Cutty Sark. Superbly situated amongst the National Maritime Museum, picture house, and theatre, you will have no problem finding great post or pre-pizza entertainment and activities in the area. The restaurant is also surrounded by beautiful green spaces such as the sprawling Greenwich park packed with a deer park, roman temple ruins, and the royal observatory. It’s easy to get to as well, walking distance to Greenwich station, by foot tunnel over the river, or more elegantly by ferry boat from the city. After you’re done catching stunning views over the water, you can be assured a classic Neapolitan pizza to keep you smiling.
The welcoming doors of Franco Manca will guide you towards the delicious aroma of sourdough pizza emanating from the hot ovens, imported from Naples for a truly authentic experience that even real Italians appreciate. The interior is sleek and clean, with warm wooden tones throughout, giving the restaurant a rustic yet modern look. The large, custom-made, oven is a stunning feature in its own right, which you can admire from the ground or first floor of the pizzeria. On the far side of the pizzeria, is a floor to ceiling display of imported wines and oils, spanning the entire wall.
Once you’ve settled in, you should check out the daily specials for the chef’s recommendations of the day according to season and new flavour pairings. Otherwise, you’ll be able to choose from seven stunning pizza options on the main menu which range from a Michelin-star chef curation to traditional margherita with milky burrata and fresh basil. There are delicious sharing plates and salads to choose from too, with the likes of aubergine parmigiana and British bresaola. Kids get their own special picirillo menu too.
