What was a military memorabilia emporium has been rather niftily transformed into Fink’s Salt & Sweet – a trendy hipster café and deli that its making waves among the cool dudes of Stoke Newington and Finsbury Park. The deli stocks breads, charcuterie, cheeses and other provisions, while the daily menu runs from breakfast and brunch through to small plates with a modish, eclectic slant – think roast sumac chicken with creamy lemon and crispy onions, bresaola with celeriac or chickpeas and kale in slow-cooked tomato sauce with goats’ curd. There are sharing boards and savoury deli ‘pots’ too, while pud is usually something simple like a hot brownie with ice cream. Almost everything on the menu is also available to take away. As for drinks, opt for Kernel or Meantime beers, a cucumber soda or something from the short global wine list.
