Elnecot is a bar restaurant based in Ancoats, Manchester. It’s a classy and cool spot, serving up British inspired dishes guaranteed to please everyone.
There’s a daytime menu, upon which you’ll find a daily brunch offering, as well as some lunchtime dishes. For lunch, you can opt for a soup or sandwich of the day, or dishes like cinderwood vegetable laksa, Devon brown crap crumpets, or crispy duck pancakes. There is also a selection of Elnecot burgers, including a Wagyu cheeseburger with umami glaze, a fried chicken burger with cheese, kimchi, and hot honey, and vegetarian and vegan sloppy Joes.
The evening menu has some of the same plates, as well as some newbies. Dishes are designed to share, arriving as and when they’re ready, so it’s recommended you order a couple between you and your fellow diners. To start with, there are nibbles like Lancashire beignets made with Lancashire cheese, miso, and jalapeno crème fraiche, and Cornish seaweed madeleines with marinated trout roe and smoked salmon butter.
When it comes to your main dishes, there are plenty to choose from. Marinated pork belly, butter-poached coley, and roasted Winter squash all make an appearance. There’s also the option for some fun ‘loaded roasties’ with chipotle jam, roasted yeast mayonnaise, seeds, and mushroom ketchup. In a nutshell, it’s a menu of British classics with fun and fancy twists.
On weekends, Elnecot does a brunch, where you’ll find all your brunch classics, as well as lots of vegan and vegetarian alternatives. There’s also the option to go bottomless at just £26 for two hours.
Finally, Elnecot does a Sunday roast, with options like lemon, thyme, and butter roasted chicken, slow-cooked shoulder of Yorkshire lamb, and a nut roast, as well as all of the delicious sides you’d expect on your roast dinner plate.
