EastZEast serves authentic Punjabi food from both India and Pakistan in Liverpool’s historic docklands. The restaurant area is large and the decor creates a luxury feel. A grand piano sits near the entrance, above it a giant crystal chandelier. It is one of four EastZEast locations owned by Bradford-born brothers Ash and Mushy. The others are in Manchester, Preston and their hometown.
The menu blends classics with a strong selection of traditional Punjabi dishes. Starters include samosas, puris, pakoras, boti and bhajis. For mains, all the old favourites are on offer, such as bhuna, rogan josh and pathia. There’s also a selection of biryanis and a sizable seafood offering, the latter represented by the likes of tiger king prawn masala and fresh cod curry. Balti options are numerous, ranging from lamb to chicken and keema.
Punjab is the birthplace of tandoori cooking, so it’s no surprise to see it given a lot of attention on the menu. Highlights from The EastZEast Grill include a tandoori mixed grill (lamb chops, seekh kebab, chicken kebab and lamb boti), paneer shashlik and jhinga tandoor (king prawns). Punjabi cooking is further represented by Lahori lamb chops and haleem, a slow cooked chicken stew with five different types of lentils. Rices, sides and naans all cover familiar ground like pilau, saag aloo and Peshwari. Drinks take the form of a range of draught beers, cocktails and wines.
The restaurant can also be hired for corporate events, parties and weddings. Each of these comes with a dedicated events planner, allowing you to shape EastZEast’s extensive offering to your exact needs. This goes beyond food, with the likes of entertainment and projectors also available to hire.
