Based right on the border of West Sussex, East Grinstead is a charming market town which is steeped in history and is home to a number of beautiful buildings. In fact, East Grinstead’s striking High Street features one of the longest continuous runs of 14th-century timber-framed buildings in the whole of England. It also benefits from being surrounded by gorgeous, sweeping countryside which gives the town an incredibly peaceful air. Parts of the town were destroyed during World War 2 as it became a secondary target for bombers, but they have since been rebuilt maintaining a sense old-school charm.
