Smart without being pretentious, this spacious street-corner pub aims to attract Fulham Road’s heavy-drinking crowd. Beers abound, with shelves of bottled stuff & three ale pumps on a constant rotation; there’s also a short wine list with plenty by the carafe, plus some obscure house cocktails to sample – try the strange-sounding Garth’s End (a mix of Chivas Regal, Frangelico, apple juice & Tabasco). The menu offers sharing boards to help soak up the booze (lamb kofta with tzatziki, hoummos, olives & feta), as well as pub-grub staples such as nachos, battered hake with chips or pork belly with root mash, bacon & apple sauce. A huge projector screen beaming out the latest action will impress sports fans, although the live music at weekends can become intrusive.
