This urban restaurant and bar in Liverpool serves up vegan and vegetarian junk food, house cocktails and plenty of good vibes seven days a week. It’s located in the area of Ropewalks, a neighbourhood that runs from Lydia Ann Street to Renshaw Street and is known for its independent shops, bars, clubs, cafes and nightlife. Descend down its steps to the basement venue, where exposed brick walls, leather banquet seating, low ceilings and a tiled bar bring a grungy, but achingly cool, aesthetic.
Known for its generously portioned plates, the food menu features a wealth of vegan and vegetarian comfort food classics. Comprised of ‘bits’, burgers, loaded fries and hot bowls, there are a ton of indulgent options to choose from. Starters include vegan mozzarella dippers served with chilli jam, seitan wings with a sticky jager glaze or garlic mushrooms baked with a cheese sauce and topped with breadcrumbs.
Burgers are just as decadent, and include the likes of the Zinger featuring a crispy patty topped with a hash brown and its famous zinger sauce, or a classic Royale with Cheese, which includes a soy patty with cheese, chunky burger relish, pickled and American mustard. You can also choose to build your own bun or wrap with your choice of fillings and sauces. Its loaded fries include a range of toppings, from chana dahl to curry sauce, mustard and Bratwurst.
If you’re there to party into the night, a late-night food menu is available until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. Wash down its decadent dishes with a house cocktail, such as a Scouse 75 (gin, rhubarb, lemon and prosecco) or a Terrys Espresso Martini (Cointreau, dark chocolate, vodka, espresso). There are also plenty of draught and bottled beers, cider, wines and fizz to choose from.
