Sat between Maida Vale and West Kilburn, Dhaba@49 is an Indian restaurant focused on serving beautifully presented North Indian dishes with the odd twist on the classics. Priding itself on its big, bold flavours and exceptional service, Dhaba@49 won't fail to leave you impressed if you decide to book in next time you're craving an Indian meal.
The spaceous restaurant has a contemporary feel to it, featuring stripped back walls lit up with a purple glow and mirrors everywhere you look, while velvet-upholstered banquettes line the walls. There are also a few seats up at the bar for those who are perhaps just wanting some snacks alongside a drink or two.
Dhaba@49's extensive food offering begins with a variety of different chaats including a Punjabi samosa chaat, which comes drizzled with sweet yoghurt, mint chutney, and tamarind chutney. Vegetarian starters include everything from pav bhaji, a mumbai speciality, to soya achari tikka, while meatier options range from a platter of tandoori grilled meats and fish, to chicken 65.
Main courses at Dhaba@49 come in the form of a huge array of curries, with a number of both meat and vegetable-based choices on the menu. Expect the odd unusual offering such as mushroom hara pyaz alongside some more staple Indian dishes like Bombay aloo and tarka dal. Meanwhile meat dishes include lamb shank and and chicken saag. If you still have room for pudding, the short list features dishes such as a chocolate samosa and gajar ka halwa, or you can go for one of the many lassis on offer too.
The drinks menu is led by a selection of wines by the glass and bottle, while there are also beers on draught and a number of spirits available. Soft drinks include all the standards alongside a couple of Indian specialities.
