Indian street food meets craft ale at Curry Leaf Cafe’s original Brighton Lanes restaurant, which opened its doors in early 2014 to fill the gap between the usual high-street curry joints and more high-end Indian eateries.
In the daytime, you can snack on the likes of flavoured mini poppadums with homemade chutney, and open-faced naans topped with crispy fried paneer and a chilli and garlic sauce. Come evening, tuck into a range of curries, including the chicken-based Shimla Mirch, or opt for the vegetarian Ennai Kathirikai, which is an aubergine variety served with paper dosa.
Finish off your meal with a creamy mango rice pudding, or perhaps banana halwa served with a scoop of ice cream. A great beer list and takeaway options (curry on the beach, anyone?) are further reasons to visit.
