Cote Brasserie Farnham

Set amongst the low roofed cottage setting of Lion and Lamb yard, Cote Brasserie uses the surroundings to bring a French vibe to add to an already cosy setting, which is hard to frame as anything but positive. With a large outdoor seating area and a bistro-style interior this is a good place to have a relaxed meal and chat over some food, and at night the outdoor area is set ablaze with some pretty lighting.

The food has a not so subtle undertone of indulgence to it, drawing, often directly, from classic French cuisine. Starting off with some Champagne you may choose to have chicken liver parfait, lamb loin chops with petit-pois and roquefort butter or even a hearty Breton fish stew (in winter outdoors this could be a good plan) and should anything quite as complicated as that not seem appealing you might go for a more modern vegan burger with truffle mayo or a lighter salad with grilled chicken breast and French beans. The breakfast and weekend brunch menu has all you might desire with eggs of almost any style, pastries and more indulgent starts, like a croque madame. This is an all day eatery, with plenty of options to suit any mood and any dietary requirement. Finish off with a slice of chocolate fondant tart or some cheese if you can manage it - this is chain food with an underlying soul.

A wide ranging wine list is matched with beers and soft drinks and you can enjoy some well priced Champagne here if you planned on having a small intimate celebration or maybe you want somewhere to sit outside with a group of friends who want some simple but tasty food. With a prix fixe and children’s menu this is a fairly all encompassing eatery to enjoy.
