It was 20 years ago that the iconic Claridge's helmed an eponymous, in-house restaurant, but now, two decades later the internal team has taken over and the hotel's name hangs above the door once again.
Claridge's Restaurant is a vision of taste and elegance, perfectly nailing the sweet spot between contemporary and classic with interiors designed by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio. Large, forest-hued leather booths pop next to burnt-orange seating, while white table cloths and stunning Calcutta Viola marble grounds the space.
Art Deco flourishes, antique brass accents and glamorous pendant lighting all hark to the building's period design history, while creating an effortless atmosphere perfect for business lunches, cocktail hour or special dinners fit for an occasion.
Speaking of which, if you have a particular occasion that calls for use of the private dining room, this space seats 12 guests and is situated just off the main restaurant and is separated by glass doors, so that the buzz of the other diners can still be felt. Inside, you'll find a hand-painted mural on the walls and an impressive artwork collection.
The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, underpinned by a modern take on British flavours, favouring seasonal produce sourced locally and from across the UK. On the breakfast menu, expect decadent twists on classic ideas such as the scallop and bacon muffin with yuzu mayonnaise, and the scrambled eggs with black truffle shavings.
For lunch and dinner, enjoy a focus on British produce such as roasted Norfolk chicken, Dorset lamb loin and Cornish sea bass, with sides like mashed potatoes and glazed garden carrots and carrot puree. While desserts of honey roasted figs served with fig leaf ice cream and fresh mint offer a unique treat for afters.
As well as a curated wine list, the cocktail selection is artfully picked with a must-try mix of signatures. We like the look of the Peach Piquant with Tapatio, Los Siete Misterios, Cointreau, peach and chilli.
