The clue's in the name at Sunday in Brooklyn, a small chain of eateries across West London that take the unique charm of New York City and re-package it, just for Londoners. If you hadn't heard, brunch culture is huge in the Big Apple, so alongside American crowd-pleasing classics, you can enjoy the best brunch in the city, inspired by those who do it best.
Sunday in Brooklyn has sites in Notting Hill and Marylebone, with the latter sitting on the picturesque James Street. Inside, the space is impeccably designed with rustic, exposed brick walls, atmospheric lighting and a mix of cool, industrial-inspired seating. In fact, you could say it looks straight out of, well, Brooklyn.
Dining is split into two times of the day: brunch and dinner. Starting with brunch and there are lighter options like chia pudding which sounds delicious with coconut, dark chocolate, seasonal jam, toasted almonds and olive oil. While steak and eggs, Sunday pancakes with hazelnut maple praline and brown butter, as well as the shakshuka are no doubt crowd pleasers. If for you, brunch is more like lunch, there's also juicy burgers like the Sunday Smash Burger with aged beef, special sauce, pickles, lettuce and cheddar on a brioche bun, a selection of fresh salads and an edit of lunch plates, showcasing BBQ aubergine and free range chicken breast with Long Island potatoes.
For dinner, you could either order a whole load of sharing plates to enjoy for the table, or just a main for yourself. Sharing wise, there's some nods to Americana culture like a corndog with BBQ glaze, mustard and crispy onions, as well as chicken yummos with fancy Ranch dressing. While, larger plates look like charred cod loin with Sicilian Datterino tomato compote, alongside beef short rib with bone marrow butter and Portobello steak with butter bean mash, chipotle and spring root vegetables.
