There’s usually a reason why an unassuming looking tea shop is busier than its neighbours. In this case it’s Christian Honor, former sous chef at Al Maraha in the Burj Al Arab, who’s swapped fine dining for cooking the things he really loves in a more relaxed environment. The result is beautiful cakes, imaginative salads, artisan bread and deli food, made using super fresh ingredients. The menu changes daily; expect the likes of Guinness and blue cheese bread, charred fennel and orange salad with almonds and fresh chilli or salmon baked with tahini, pomegranate, walnuts and garlic. The café is the visible side of Honor’s private catering company, and given the quality of it, this café will no doubt be a winner.
