If you’re a fan of fried chicken and like the idea of doing something for the community, then new Tottenham venture Chicken Town could be up your street. The chicken here is free range and herb-fed, and to keep the end dish as healthy as possible, the chicken is then steamed before being flash-fried and served up with baked wedges and fresh salads. Profits from evening meals are ploughed back into the business so that the restaurant can offer subsidised £2 fried-chicken meals to young people at lunch and in the afternoon. The feelgood factor is catching and Chicken Town has already formed partnerships with some top restaurants, including Quo Vadis, The River Café and Polpo – so look out for some seriously interesting guest menus.
