Chatsworth is the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and has been passed down through 16 generations. There is plenty to explore across the grounds with the gorgeous stately home, the 105-acre garden, as well as the farmyard and adventure playground.
With so many reasons to visit, it is no surpise that it is a popular spot for days out with the family and Chatsworth has plenty to keep you fed and watered throughout your trip.
Of course, with such extensive grounds, your best dining option is an old-fashioned picnic somewhere in the beautiful gardens. You can bring your own food and take in the sights or pop into one of the seven food outlets to get something delicious.
For picnics, you'll want to head to the Park picnic shop near the entrances to the garden and house. This little shop sells hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and baguettes filled with all sorts of tasty fillings, as well as pasties and homemade soup to keep you warm on a winter trip to Chatsworth. You can also pick up any of the yummy cakes on display to finish off your picnic with a sweet treat.
Another fantastic option is Flora's temple tea shop, located in the garden which also offers some sandwiches and pasties. This is the perfect spot for grabbing a latte or a hot chocolate, alongside homemade scones, jam, and cream.
If you're too busy exploring to take a seat, you'll find a number of different food trucks across the grounds serving everything from stone-baked pizzas to fresh scones.
Chatsworth is the perfect place for families to relax with a picnic in gorgeous surroundings. Bring along your dog and enjoy an ice cream or hot drink on one of the many trail walks across the estate.
