If you're looking for a taste of the Mediterranean in the heart of London, let us introduce you to Cavo. Located on Denmark Street in Outernet's Now Building, Cavo sits on one of the upper floors, benefitting from the fantastic view.
Just a few moments walk from Soho and Covent Garden, the light, bright space features high, floor-to-ceiling windows which are a great spot for people watching and admiring the olde London architecture. Other design notes include super high ceilings with exposed pipework for an industrial feel. As is enduringly popular, seating has a Scandinavian feel, with nods to mid-century design and the 70s, with form-lead banquettes upholstered in boucle fabric. With atmospheric lighting and lush plants, it ticks all the boxes.
When it comes to the food, Cavo is passionate about celebrating the Mediterranean's exceptional seafood offering, although there absolutely is something for everyone. To start with, enjoy some nibbles for the table such as baccala, salted cod mousse and crispy sourdough or an oyster platter served with burnt garlic. If tapas is your thing, you're in luck, with a diverse mix of sharing plates featuring both classic and innovative flavours. We like the sound of burrata with pistachio pesto and heritage tomato, as well as Mazara red prawns with fennel and orange salad, and black cod with cherry tomatoes and kalamata olive sauce. There's also some fantastic feasting options such as sharing paella and a seafood platter. Or, try something from the josper grill, which sees meats, fish and vegetables cooked over Spanish coals. The octopus, sea bass or turbot would all make fine choices, as would the Maremmano t-bone steak or 28-day aged rack of Lazio Abbacchio Romano lamb.
Cavo also boasts a swanky private dining space which, rather than a small, boxed-off room, is like another version of the restaurant itself complete with a private bar. There's also a rooftop area for those who want to enjoy the summer sun, so be sure to check that out.
