Chatsworth House is known across the world for its beautiful art, landscape and hospitality, and today, it stands as testament to the centuries past which showcase the tastes and passions of its succeeding generations. Chatsworth House is home to works of art that span 4000 years, and has over 25 rooms to explore.
The Cavendish restaurant is set in Chatsworth House's picturesque 18th century stables, and serves high quality lunches that are made with seasonal produce from the estate and local providers, along with deliciously British afternoon teas.
The Chatsworth afternoon tea includes a savoury starter followed by a platter of freshly made sandwiches served on locally baked breads, before you cleanse the palate with a cooling sorbet. Then you will enjoy warm scones and indulgent cakes served on a Wedgwood tea stand, served with a cafetiere, barista-made coffee, or a pot of tea from the handpicked range, supplied by Northern Tea Merchants of Chesterfield. If you wish, you can add a glass of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé.
If you like your meals to be set out, similar to an afternoon tea, then opt for the set lunch menu. Start with locally baked bread and a range of flavoured butters, and then choose from a set lunch menu featuring a choice of four starters, four main dishes, and four desserts, before finishing with a pot of tea or a barista-made coffee and petit fours. Expect to find dishes of pork terrine with a pineapple and chilli salsa and crispy pork crackling, and Derbyshire braised lamb shoulder with charred celeriac, pea puree, confit carrot and a redcurrant reduction. Dessert includes a delicious espresso parfait with a home-baked ginger biscuit and candied hazelnuts.
