Drawing inspiration from his grandmother Catalina, the head chef David and his wife Rupal craft some of the most exquisite Mexican cuisine in the City of London. Savour the succulence of slow-roasted brisket, tender chicken, or specially prepared jackfruit, all while indulging in one of the tantalising Tequila-based cocktails or refreshing mocktails.
While you wait and deliberate over your meal, try the corn tortilla chips with the in house guacamole or salsa. Great for sharing, the Mexican nachos are topped with housemade nacho cheese, fresh grated cheddar, black beans, black olives, home-pickled jalapenos, homemade guacamole, chopped tomatoes, red onion, and sour cream.
Mains range from a seafood enchilada of Catalina's tequila-fish sauce, filled with prawns, scallops, select cheeses, topped with crab, select cheeses, fresh tomatoes, onions, and cilantro, to a chilli with Mexican beans and rice and spiced beef and lamb, BBQ brisket chunks, and an authentic Mexican blend of chilli peppers, smoked cheddar cheese, onions, chopped tomato, cilantro, and avocado.
Dessert is just as delicious. The tipsy scoops are made with a kick, from raspberry and mandarin vodka lime sorbet to the mango rum runner sorbet. There's also a dark chocolate sharing board for two on the menu, and cocktails of Mexican decadence with tequila, Kahlua and dulce de leche, along with Coco Galetta, made with Biscoff spread and orange bitters.
Because the team at Catalina's love dogs so much, they have teamed up with gourmet canine hospitality company, Talula Eats, to design a three course doggie dining experience. The main meal is made from fresh, human-grade ingredients and is slow-cooked to optimise nutrition. There are zero additives in these meals, and each is high in omega 3 and 6, along with essential vitamins and fats. Your dog is in for just as much of a treat as you are.
