Caprese don Costanzo

At Caprese Don Costanzo ,an Italian restaurant in Glasgow’s West End, family is at the heart of all that they do. They know their customers well and the restaurant is truly family run with all family members having worked there over the last decade. Ran by the Capri native Constanzo, the restaurant was initially conceived in 1982 and was located in a cozy basement in Buchanan Street. The venue soon gained a loyal following and saw much success for 28 years before closing in 2011 to make way for a new shopping development.

Located in the basement of a former Victorian townhouse, the venue is spacious with a dining room that comfortably seats 70 guests. Visitors to Caprese Don Costanzo are also treated to live music alongside their meal on the last Friday of every month. The space is decorated cheerfully with red tablecloths and the walls are adorned with photos of past diners and the fun times we had at Caprese Don Costanzo. This personal touch is central to the mission at Caprese don Costanzo and also extends to their customer service as they promise everything possible to accommodate their guests' needs.

This unpretentious setting does not mean that the food is any less excellent with classic Italian fare made with fresh seasonal produce. Expect well-loved Italian pasta dishes like carbona, spaghetti vongole and Bolognese as well as risotto and meat specialty dishes like chicken Milanese, beef stroganoff and chicken cacciatore. The dessert menu is short and sweet featuring a homemade Tiramisu, white chocolate profiteroles, several flavours of ice cream and affogato. The drinks menu features a good range of wines, beers and spirits as well as soft drinks and hot beverages.
