Caleys Brasserie Windsor

I have just returned from the very worst family meal ever! I have NEVER complained about a restaurant before but the obnoxious, arrogant and rude behaviour of the restaurant manager was so disgraceful that I feel compelled to do so. We eventually managed to place our order after 30 mins (despite the restaurant not being busy). When our food hadn't arrived at least 30 mins later we asked whether we might have to wait much longer? I was spoken down to by the manager who told me that because somebody had ordered a burger the order would take at least 25 mins ( no mention of this on the menu) – he assured me the food was being plated up. 20 minutes later – still no food! We complained again and were told in no uncertain terms that we had no reason to complain. The restaurant manager was so rude to my brother that I followed him out of the restaurant to take a note of his name in order to make a complaint later. Having taken a note I returned to my table. He followed me and interrupted our already disgruntled table to tell me the name of his manager to whom I needed to complain – totally unnecessary and provocative. He then told staff that we were not allowed to order any more and that we should be asked to leave as soon as we had finished! I have never felt such undeserved shame! I run a PR company in Windsor and have been considering using this hotel and restaurant for an event this summer- that will now not be happening! Avoid this place! I think that the fact that this was the only restaurant in Windsor that we were able to get a reservation is very telling!
