In the charming neighbourhood of Finchley in North London, Bufi showcases an irresistible charm that mirrors the warmth of Italy itself. The interiors are full of exposed brick walls, wooden accents, chequered tablecloths, and warm, welcoming colours, reminiscent of an Italian trattoria. Since its opening in 2013, Bufi has been dedicated to delivering time-honoured Italian cuisine, offering a delectable array of classic dishes, wholesome sharing platters, and genuine Neapolitan pizza, all expertly crafted in the traditional wood-fired oven.
The menu starts off with nocellara olives, dough sticks doused in garlic butter, and focaccia topped with marinated cherry tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and basil. Antipasti includes tasty favourites like fried calamari in chipotle mayo and meatballs with chilli and parmesan. The main menu is where the Italian flare really comes into play, with chicken Milanese, sliced steak with truffle and parmesan fries, capricciosa Neapolitan pizza and melanzane parmigiana. Brunch is served on Fridays and the weekend, between 12 and 4pm, and includes smoked salmon with lemon mascarpone, friarielli hash topped with a fried egg, and penne alla norma and a ricotta side salad.
Dessert features plenty of Italian favourites including homemade hazelnut tiramisu, warm pear and almond cake and affogato with Nutella. Children are well catered for with several main course options that include pizzas, chicken nuggets and penne pastas. Don't let them forget about the vanilla or chocolate ice cream though, especially as it's topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. Bufi is an ode to the Italian art of dining.
Encouraging guests to savour the finest flavours, share cherished memories, and create new traditions, the Bufi team pride themselves on attentive service and inviting ambiance to make every visit a memorable affair, where diners become cherished guests in a restaurant inspired by the soulful spirit of Italy.
