A subterranean establishment on Queen Street, Bramble may not be the most obvious cocktail bar in the city but it is arguably the best. With its white-painted walls, low ceiling, alcoves, sofas
& banquettes, the atmosphere is lo-fi decadence, and when the DJs come out to play, it feels very much like a pre-club bar. Conversely, the staff here really do care about the quality of
cocktails on offer which means an excellent choice of spirits confected into remarkable drinks like the Queen Street Julep (Glenglassaugh peated spirit, elderflower liqueur, fresh mint, sugar &
rhubarb bitters in a golden goblet) or the Blueberry Soup (Ketel One vodka, blueberry purée, lemon juice, vanilla sugar syrup & blueberry liqueur). The range of gin & tonics is an education
– there are five recommended basic versions – while asking bar staff for ‘a Martini’ tends to be the start of a conversation rather than a simple drinks order.
