Bottega Caruso

Margate's food scene just seems to get better and better, and now there's another restaurant to put on your must-visit list. Bottega Caruso is an authentic Italian, founded by Simona and Harry, who each bring something different to the mix. 

As far as the Italian credentials go, this is all Simona, who comes from a small village in Italy's Campania region, Foglianise. Growing up around a family of artisan pasta producers and makers of the best tomato sauce (so they say!), Simona was bound to inherit the culinary gene and so Margate restaurant honours her family's traditions and shares their recipes with Kent locals and out-of-towners alike. 

Harry may not be Italian, but he has managed some fantastic, and very busy, restaurants in London and so was the ideal counterpart for starting a new haunt. Together the pair hold supper clubs, pasta-making workshops and events, as well as sell Simona's family sauce and, of course, a delicious lunch and dinner service throughout the week.
