Given its location in the shade of Southwark cathedral, it’s no surprise that this indie bistro buys most of its produce from nearby Borough Market. Boro Bistro’s foodie USP is a menu of mix-and-match small plates for sharing, backed by generous charcuterie and cheese platters. Meat, fish and veggie longings are all satisfied as the line-up scrolls its way through snails rolled in pancetta with char-grilled mizuna and walnuts, warm smoked eel with beetroot rémoulade and grated horseradish or butterbean salad with spiked with rose harissa. There are mini burgers too (try the oxtail version with crayfish), while sweets might bring quince rice pudding. To drink, no fewer than 17 Belgian craft beers line up alongside a modest assortment of good-value, French-accented wines. Live music and DJs on Thursday nights.
