From Steven Burgess and Josh Moore, BoBo is a unique concept that is part of a wider, multi-faceted hospitality group. Set in Castle Street, BoBo celebrates Portuguese and Spanish wine culture, giving people a place to enjoy delicious bites to eat and refreshing drinks in a welcoming setting.
From the orange-yellow frontage to the modern but on-trend interiors, BoBo appears as the place to be. The interiors are softly lit, featuring string lights, hanging bulbs with foliage, and wicker light shades. Inside are shelves stacked with Spanish produce, hanging chillies, and green tiled walls, and outside you’ll find barrels, stools, and tables as you would on the streets of Lisbon or Barcelona.
Bar snacks include habas picantes (spicy roasted broad beans), crispy maize kernels and gordal olives in garlic, chilli and orange. Sandwiches are served with mixed pickles and olives, and there are filling options of serrano ham with shaved manchego; tuna with tomato, peppers and aioli; crispy chicken with ham, honey piri mayo and lettuce and an egg and potato tortilla with aioli and lettuce. BoBo is a wine bar, so you’ll also find a great selection of cold charcuterie, house cheeses and chorizo baked with honey and pickled chillies to pair with a list of bold bottles from some of the best Iberian vineyards.
The BoBo menu also caters to brunch fanatics, offering a house board of bocadillo sandwiches with cheese, charcuterie, tortillas, olives and other snacks. Of course, you’ll find some tasty cocktails to booze up your brunch, including a Watermelon and Basil Margarita with El Jimador, a Passionfruit and Chilli Martini, and a Boozy Iced White Choc Cortado with Frangelico, espresso and Licor 43. Dessert couldn't be more simple, there’s just one option on the menu: a creamy almost caramelised pastel de nata, a traditional Portuguese custard tart.
