Music is intrinsic to the appeal of this unpretentious Clapton Pond party bar. When we show up one Saturday, live indie guitar rockers and urban, hip-hop and rap DJs take the stage until 3am. The premises have the raw-edged look of a New York East Village punk liquor lounge – which might explain the name (Ms Harry’s band doubtless played such venues on her way to stardom). Brewed locally, the eponymous house IPA, Innis & Gunn lager and Pistonhead Full Amber beer are what to neck. Alternatively, sample the keenly priced wines – available by the glass, bottle or carafe. A bottle of Prosecco costs just £18 while an Alsace Pinot Gris is top whack at £20. Cocktails (£7.50) pay homage to famous blondes including Dolly (a Strawberry Daiquiri), a Courtneys ‘Sour’ and Cindy, a Grapefruit Margarita. Disappointingly, no tribute to Debbie makes the list.
