Blacklock are bringing their celebrated steaks and big chops and great value for money to a brand-new Manchester location. With award-winning roasts that promise to beat your mum’s Blacklock Manchester is located in charming and historic premises on Peter Street.

The restaurant is located in a quaint and atmospheric basement of a Grade II-listed historic old textile merchants. This location allows the space to be right in the thick of the action on Peter Street whilst also providing guests with respite and calm. The character and charm of the building is conserved with old warehouse flooring, red brick walls and airy high ceilings that brighten this space with light flooding in from street level.

The food is approached with a similar no-nonsense attitude, with Blackrock Manchester’s menu being every meat-lover’s dream meal. Guests can choose from and enjoy a vast range of every cut imaginable of lamb, pork, beef and of course the eponymous and chops. The menu also has some more lunch-friendly options with steak sarnies and burgers on offer and despite the decidedly carnivorous focus thus far there is halloumi with Jerusalem artichokes on offer for vegetarian guests. Mains are served with sides including a sumptuous 10-hour ash roasted sweet potato and crispy beef dripping chips and the sauces on offer include a tantalizing garlic marrow spread. The wine list is curated and concise and is accompanied by a fabulous and affordable selection of cocktails and mocktails as well as great list of lagers and IPAs.

It would be amiss not to also mention Blacklock’s Sunday Roast which offers guests their usual high-quality meat dishes alongside traditional trimmings and copious amounts of gravy. There are also some more untraditional features of a Blacklock roast including their ‘beefy Mary’, a bloody Mary with beef jus included as an ingredient and exciting starters like their Pig’s Head on Toast.
