The Biddle Bros experience is something akin to your best mate inviting you round, buying in some booze & telling you to make yourself at home. There are sofas to sink into, coffee tables for resting your glass of red, & some nice sounds on the stereo. This quaint former builders’ merchant’s (which gave the bar its name) is an unintimidating, unselfconscious local – Clapton hasn’t become ‘the new Dalston’ just yet. The simple offering is limited to a few draught lagers, draught Guinness, a bit of plonk & a menu courtesy of the Italian deli-café next door (lasagne, cannelloni & the like). The monthly diary includes spoken-word events, quiz nights & the Biddle Brothers Band, for punters (students & nearby residents in the main) to look forward to.
