Barburrito is a chain that you can find spread across the UK, after opening their first burrito bar, and in fact, the UK's first burrito bar, in Manchester back in 2005. This branch on Glasgow's Queen Street has the same focus as all of the others, to create an atmosphere that reflects Mexico's spirited culture whilst serving authentic, delicious burritos. Your meal will be prepared using fresh ingredients that are prepared each day in the Barburrito kitchens, as you take a seat in the colourful, laid back setting.
First up, you choose your burrito with options of the classic with garlic or Mexican rice with beans or veg, the loaded, California with Mexican fries and cheese sauce, or superfood with a veg and slaw base. Following that, you choose your filling out of just a few options. There's grilled chicken, Mexican veg and guacamole, vegan chicken, pork carnitas and barbacoa beef. You can choose your toppings and salsa at the counter, so that your burrito is truly customised to your taste. On the side, there are options of cheesy Mexi fries, wings glazed in your choice of sauce, and loaded nachos with cheese, sour cream, salsa, cheese sauce, jalapenos and pink onions.
If you swing by Barburrito before 11am, you can enjoy one of the burritos or bowls, with potato tots, scrambled eggs, black beans and a chipotle tomato sauce, and your option of bacon, sausage and cheese, or mushrooms with guacamole. Desserts are simple and with a Mexican twist, including blondies and brownies and the very popular hot and doughy dish of churros with dulce de leche or chocolate. We’d opt for both!
