Located just a few minutes’ walk from Paddington station, if you’ve been traveling and need an energy boost to keep you going for the rest of the day, enjoy a dish of carby delights at Ask Italian. If it’s a nice day eat your meal outside in the alfresco dining area of the restaurant. If the weather isn’t as good not to worry because the glass ceiling still gives you the feeling of eating outside no matter the weather.
The menu is filled with modern Italian cuisine, and includes the likes of calzone pollo, margherita pizza and risotto con pollo e funghi. As well as these classics that everyone knows and loves from the pizza and pasta menu, also give the dishes on the main menu a try. Opt for the sea bass al forno with new potatoes, veg and a white wine sauce or try the roast coppa ham wrapped salmon in a rich tomato sauce. Still super authentic but stray slightly from the stereotypical dishes.
The menu is pretty extensive so you’re forgiven if you’re struggling to choose what you want to eat. If you really can’t decide the weekend set menu is worth a try as you can choose from a smaller selection of dishes like the bruschetta to start, fettuccine Bolognese for mains and vegan blood orange and chocolate tart for dessert.
As we’re on the topic of desserts be sure to try some of the delights from the main dessert menu too. You’ll find the speciality lemon meringue pie served with a raspberry sorbet, White chocolate swirl mousse or if you fancy visiting just for coffee and cake you can pick from either the pistachio and olive oil cake or the blood orange and chocolate tart with a choice of the Italian coffees they have on offer.
Whether you do decide to visit for a quick coffee and cake, or a full three course Italian meal you can be sure that when you go you will be greeted with bright modern décor, and authentic Italian cuisine with a modern twist.
