The Artists’ Bar is the informal space at the heart of The Dorchester - a glamorous meeting place for guests within the hotel to drink, dine and watch the world go by in the confines of this famous London hotel. The bar itself is named in honour of The Dorchester’s long history of hosting famous artists and creatives, from musicians and artists to authors and playwrights.
Sitting under the illumination of the bar’s stunning Lalique crystal chandelier, the Artists’ Bar is a grand, opulent space. The eye is drawn to a glass piano in the centre of the room that once belonged to Liberace, and The Dorchester’s resident pianist sits here each evening to serenade guests.
From marble floors and intricate rugs to the plush upholstery on cosy armchairs, every bit of the decoration is bold and opulent. The semi-circular bar itself is also bespoke - made again of Lalique crystal - with a collection of bar stools surrounding for those who like to be up close and personal with the expert bartenders.
As well as an impressive wine list and a host of house spirits, the Artists’ Bar also offers a short but sweet cocktail menu, with a number of unique signatures available in this part of the hotel. Choose between Champagne cocktails like the ‘Illusions’ (Tarragon Belvedere, Everleaf Marine, lemon verbena, Veuve Clicquot and olive) or classic signatures like the ‘Petal Head’ (Stoli Elit, kumquat, Aperol, passion fruit, coriander seed, rose and coconut).
There’s also a compact and suitable lux food menu to accompany, which includes a selection of different caviars, rock oysters by the half dozen, sashimi, ceviche, carved salmon and sushi rolls.
