Originally set up by two best friends (‘amici’), this Keighley favourite is now in the hands of a Neapolitan manager and a Sardinian chef – so it’s no surprise that the food has strong regional
overtones, without becoming too esoteric for the locals. Wood-fired pizzas, folded calzone and freshly made pasta dishes are the main contenders on the lengthy menu (think lobster and ricotta
ravioli or linguine with chicken and pesto), but there’s also a full contingent of antipasti, grills and main courses ranging from pork saltimbocca or beef tagliata to baked cod with tomato, lemon
and olives. Amici is also big on special deals: Monday night’s set menu comes with live music, Wednesday is for cut-price pizza and pasta, and there are regular early-bird offers too. World beers
and Italian wines tempt the drinkers.
