Depending on the mood and style of occasion, afternoon tea at The Claremont can be served within the drawing room, study or dining room, as well as the beautiful walled garden when the weather permits. Adding to the retro charm of the affair, everything is served on vintage bone china with crisp embroidered tablecloths for the perfect final touch.
Settle in for an afternoon of vintage splendour! Things kick off with a selection of sandwiches on white and brown bread, including egg and cress, cream cheese and cucumber, smoked salmon, crème fraiche and horseradish, and a cheese scone with homemade chutney. Moving onto the sweet course, guests are treated to a selection of classics - think Victoria sponge, chocolate brownie and macarons. Of course, miniature scones served with Cornish clotted cream and strawberry preserve are also included in proceedings.
All its teas are lovingly prepared from locally sourced ingredient where possible, and you can also select to add a glass of Prosecco or Champagne to the occasion if you wish.
There is also a kids afternoon tea menu available, which includes a range of sandwiches (ham, cheese and marmite) and sweets (brownie, jelly and ice cream) washed down with fruit juice, a babycino or peppermint tea.
