Malmaison is one of Glasgow's stylish, boutique hotels that is unique, modern and welcoming. At Malmaison, you can enjoy a super tasty afternoon tea that strays away from the norm. These afternoon teas are seasonally themed and on trend, so you'll always find something fun on the menu. There is a standard afternoon tea offering, along with a menu for vegetarians and vegans, and another that is gluten free. Tea is an integral part of any afternoon tea, and you'll have a great selection of blends to choose from. There's the classic English breakfast along with organic peppermint, blackberry and raspberry, pure green tea and lemon and ginger.
The classic afternoon tea is reimagined with the Mal savouries of sliders made with beef patties, garnish and relish in a brioche bun, a crunchy Thai sticky beef and sesame wrap, and fresh prawn cocktail. The sweet treats do contain the afternoon tea hero of scones with jam and clotted cream, along with a slice of Victoria sponge, calamansi citrus meringue tarts, a raspberry ripple and white chocolate sundae and dark chocolate and salted caramel tart. If you want to go all out, you can add some sparkle or shake it up with a glass of Prosecco or one of the bar's signature cocktails.
The vegan afternoon tea menu is much the same, just with different flavour pairings. Mal sliders are made with black bean patties, and the Thai wrap is made with sticky tofu and sesame. There's also a hummus grilled flatbread and caprese salad with vegan feta and basil, along with scones and strawberry jam. The sweet treats include a crunchy chocolate and nut cheesecake, raspberry and coconut slice, carrot and walnut cupcake and chocolate and orange cupcake. Doesn't that sound delicious?
