and Sunday lunch menu.
Not feeling that hungry? Go for some lighter bites or smaller plates. The nibbles menu offers wings and strips or loaded chips, while the snack shack has sandwiches, toasties and some seriously cheesy jacket potatoes. A small plates menu is also available, featuring breaded Whitby scampi, mac and cheese, and a chicken and bacon salad.
Behind the bar you’ll find everything your heart desires. There are pints of world lagers, craft beers and crisp ciders to quench your thirst while having a chat or watching a match, and plenty of shots and bombs to celebrate the big win afterwards. If gin is more your thing, you’ll be spoilt for choice, as Crows Nest stocks everything from the traditional London Dry to new concoctions packed with sweet and citrusy flavours.
Acid Bar
Situated in SWG3 Studio Warehouse, a galvanizers’ yard turned independent venues featuring the best of indie art, design, music, fashion, food and nightlife, Acid Bar is keeping the artists of Glasgow fed, watered and caffeinated. This on-site café, restaurant, bar and gallery space is the ideal spot for coffee, catch-ups, people watching and a pre-gig meal.
There’s an intensely modern and minimalist feel to this space. It’s spacious, it’s stylish, and it’s filled with natural light, with long sharing tables made from light wood and industrial fittings, staying true to the venue’s origins as a warehouse. There's also an outdoor terrace with a covering to protect diners from that famous Glaswegian rain, plenty of greenery and hanging plants, and some orange-hued lights to cast a warm glow over the area.
Pops of colour are added to the space by the artwork on the walls. Not only a café, Acid Bar is also a permanent exhibition space for the best and boldest of Glasgow’s contemporary artists. Take it all in while sipping on coffee sourced from The Steamie Coffee Roasters, accompanied by tasty baked treats including local favourite Tantrum Doughnuts. There’s also a bar (the clue’s in the name), which is kept well-stocked with a selection of carefully-chosen beers and spirits.
It’s difficult to know what to expect from Acid Bar once the café shift is over. At night, the space is handed over to the resident restauranteur, which changes on a regular basis to showcase the best of Glasgow’s contemporary restaurants. Ever-changing and always exciting, Acid Bar is one of those venues that is unpredictable and unique in every sense.
Be aware that you can also hire the space for meetings, private functions, lunches, dinners and other events.
