With space for just over half a dozen diners at a time, this Notting Hill newcomer (on the old Marianne site) offers an intimate dining experience in cosy confines. Clean white tablecloths and pastel pink chairs set the scene for a contemporary French four-course set menu designed by former Pétrus chef Richard Wilkins.
As with most fine-dining restaurants solely serving a tasting menu, seasonality is key to what will be available on any given day, but dishes have included Puglian asparagus with confit lemon zest, herb sabayon and butterfly sorrel, and wild seabass with Champagne sauce and schrenckii caviar. Dessert appears to be an equally rich affair, if the chocolate moelleux with hazelnut praline and passionfruit sorbet is anything to go by. Portions are petite, but complimentary canapés, bread, pre-dessert and petit fours will ensure you don’t leave hungry.
