Conveniently located for theatre-goers, West End shoppers and visitors to the capital, St James Bar has everything you could want for a comfortable experience. The sleek marble-topped bar, dark blue velvet banquettes and warm lighting all contribute to a feeling of hushed tranquillity without being dull or intimidating, making it as well-suited to dates as to drinks with colleagues or friends.
Next to Wild Honey, the intimate St James Bar, housed within the grand Sofitel London St James, is a luxurious spot in which to while away an evening. Overseen by bar manager Enzo Sigaut, its array of sips leaves nothing to be desired, so whether you’re in the mood for a cocktail, a glass of Champagne or a dram of premium whisky, you’re certain to find something to hit the spot.
As well as a number of fine Champagnes, including Dom Pérignon and Krug Grande Cuvée, you’ll also find a vast selection of spirits. Gin aficionados will delight in the variety on offer, which spans dry, citrus, spiced, floral and herbal flavours, while whisky drinkers can enjoy anything from a Scottish single malt to Irish, American and Japanese whiskies. The cocktail list is split into three, so whether you’re after a martini, a fizz cocktail or a non-alcoholic concoction, the mixologist will have you covered.
To complement the bar’s drinks menu and cocktail list, Wild Honey’s chef Anthony Demetre has fashioned a bar menu containing premium snacks, light plates and larger dishes that promise to keep hunger pangs at bay. You’ll find the likes of oysters, cheese and charcuterie alongside larger dishes of crab croquettes with rouille, tempura courgette flowers with romesco sauce and crisp buttermilk marinated chicken with wild garlic mayonnaise. If you’re after something a little heartier, try a croque monsieur, a smoked eel toasted sandwich or a ‘dirty’ burger with chips.
