Softly lit and adorned with a series of contemporary artworks by artists including Eleanor Carlingford, Ross Miller and Jason Keeley, the private dining room at Wild Honey St James is a stylish juxtaposition of low-key chic and eye-catching modernity. Situated within the striking new dining room designed by interior specialist Jim Hamilton, the private room offers the chance to sample the distinctive modern European menus in an intimate setting.
Soft green velvet tub chairs surround the long wooden table, which can seat up to 16 guests for business meetings, private lunches and celebration dinners, in a space that’s well-proportioned and inviting. For two smaller spaces, the room can be divided with a curtain.
Led by Michelin-starred chef patron Anthony Demetre (one of the most consistently inventive British chefs of the past 20 years), Wild Honey St James is a solid choice for private dining, whether it’s for a corporate dinner or a birthday lunch with friends. His menus, overseen by head chef Simon Woodrow (formerly of Arbutus), combine classic French techniques with the finest seasonal produce Britain has to offer, resulting in dishes that are as distinctive as they are delicious.
In addition to the a la carte menu, private dining guests can also choose from the summer or Sunday lunch menus. Menus are seasonal and subject to change, but the most recent sample summer menu includes a salad of English peas, lemon, honey and radish followed by Cornish cod, or honey ice cream and English strawberries with mascarpone and basil sorbet. The wine list is extensive, but for those who enjoy recommendations or don’t want to bother with choosing, wine flights are available. A range of cocktails, beers, ciders and spirits are also available, as well as a good selection of non-alcoholic drinks.
