The Loch & the Tyne is a British restaurant and pub with guest bedrooms in Old Windsor. Spearheaded by Adam Handling, whose restaurant group also includes Ugly Butterfly in St. Ives and its flagship, Frog by Adam Handling in Covent Garden. Handling’s focus has always been sustainability, with low-waste practices, vegetable gardens, composting, and solar panels featuring where possible.
Seating up to ten guests, the private dining room at The Loch & the Tyne comes with its own personal chef and waiting team to ensure your visit is truly special. If the a la carte and tasting menus are anything to go on, the food available is stellar.
The tasting menu at The Loch & The Tyne includes the likes of a Chefs’ snacks selection, celeriac with apple and dates, salmon with avocado and jalapeño, cod with brown shrimp, braised baby gem (with an option to add caviar), lamb rump with spiced aubergine and pickle, all topped off with a chilled apple crumble.
Drinks at The Loch & the Tyne include a host of unusual cocktails. Dodged a Bulleit is a fun, rich and nutty cocktail made from peanut butter washed Bulleit bourbon, discarded banana peel rum and wasted banana peel. Of course, you also can’t miss out on the Chef’s favourite, Perfect, Three Cherries, a cherry-infused Johnnie Walker black label with discarded vermouth, dry vermouth and house bitters – so good Adam Handling named a book after it. Its wine list is split into different sections: Take a peek, Adventure, Quintessential, Effervescence, Fruits from the garden, Rosé, Opulence and Let’s Get Sticky, but also be sure to check out their extensive non-alcoholic drinks selection.
