If you haven't stumbled across Shoryu Ramen in Covent Garden before, we can understand why. In the heart of one of London's most historic areas, this authentic Japanese restaurant is hidden in plain sight, with a darkened entrance, glowing subtley with illuminated paper lanterns.
This is the magic of Shoryu Ramen - inspired by the best street food across Japan, this small restaurant echoes the ramen bars you might find in the winding streets of Tokyo with minimalist furnishings, lanterns dangling over head and an eclectic menu of mouth-watering, authentic dishes.
So, if you're planning a special event - be it a birthday party, after-work dinner or get together with friends and are looking for somewhere that will happily accomodate larger groups, as well as serve up the tastiest grub, check out Shoryu Ramen Covent Garden. While there isn't a private dining room exactly, you can give the team a call to talk about their group offering, with options available to book our parts of the restaurant.
Now, onto the menu. First, kick off your time here with a drink - Shoryu is proud to have the biggest selection of sake across the UK, or you could try a signature cocktail. We like the sound of the Umesky Highball with Suntory Toki Whisky, Gekkeikan Umeshu and soda water.
Ramen fans will want to explore the many different ramen offerings - there's classics like the Origin Tonkotsu with char siu bbq pork belly, kikurage mushrooms and spring onion, as well as vegan options and specials, like Kimchi Seafood Natural with fiery kimchi in a white natural broth with prawns, squid,
nitamago egg and kikurage mushrooms.
Perhaps, you'd prefer to share some smaller plates for the table. The menu is ideal for this, too, with options like chicken thighs with teriyaki glaze, alongside Shoryu buns with crispy tofu or BBQ pork, as well as deep fried diced octopus balls with a mix of sauces. Delicious!
