The Hope & Anchor is a quintessential country pub in the heart of the Wye Valley - a protected Area of Natural Beauty, and certainly one of the UKs most picturesque landscapes. Situated right in the middle of historic Ross-On-Wye, The Hope & Anchor is not just a watering hole for the thirsty, it's also a restaurant and an inn, with 12 en suite rooms soon-to-be available for overnight stays and holiday makers.
As well as the wide-ranging food and drink offering and upstairs rooms, The Hope & Anchor also offers private dining for large groups who want to hire out this charming pub for a special event. The attached Pavilion restaurant and bar boasts a spacious dining room that can be hired exclusively, and set up to provide room for up to 80 seated guests.
Meanwhile, the range of menus on offer at the pub and restaurant mean there's something for everyone. The all-day menu in the pub is full of classic comfort food, ranging from flame-grilled barbecue chicken wings and tempura king prawns to a chargrilled chicken caesar salad, chilli con carne, minted lamb burger and a chocolate fudge brownie with honeycomb crunch. The pub also offers a pizza menu, breakfast menu and dedicated children's menu, keeping everyone well fed. The Pavilion restaurant serves more contemporary British fare, with dishes including pan-seared pigeon breast with wild mushrooms, fried soft shall crab with pickled slaw and corn sorbet, and a surf and turf of Chateaubriand and calamari. The Wye Valley is home to some of Britain's best produce, and The Hope and Anchor prides itself on using the highest quality local produce in all dishes whenever possible.
Different set menus may be available for larger groups - get in touch with the Hope & Anchor team for more information on booking private dining.
