We’ve honed in some of the City’s most business-friendly spots for entertaining
1. 1 Lombard Street, EC3
Capacity 40
2016 saw the relaunch of the restaurant’s private dining space as The Botanical Room. The fresh look features vintage details, themed prints and a private bar, while glass doors mean it’s flooded with light.
2. Camino Monument, EC3
Capacity 30
Wine and tapas are on the menus at all of this Spanish group’s restaurants. This City outpost has the private Fiesta Room, where the vibrancy of the main space is upheld with a striking mural, and banquette seating lines the walls.
3. M Restaurants, EC2
Capacity 12, 26, 36
Hidden within an imposing site on Threadneedle Street are three distinct dining spaces. We like the largest, Underground Station. Seated under the main space, it has its own reception area, meaning that private dinners feel particularly exclusive.
4. The Royal Exchange Grand Café, EC3
Capacity 18, 36, 50
While well-heeled tourists are perusing the luxury shops below, groups can be entertained on the first floor of the Grade I-listed building. Sauterelle works for semi-private events but secluded dinners can be held in the Cornhill Room, which has views of the central courtyard below.
