When the Henrietta Hotel opened its doors last year, we were struck by its art deco interiors and boutiquey size. So it’s good news that this June,
Henrietta Bistro will open, guided by head chef Sylvain Roucayrol from sister site Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels.
Paying homage to the former garden of Covent Garden, the restaurant’s design couldn’t be more 2018; think shrubs, green accents, a glass roof and terracotta tiles.
For events, it’s the mezzanine floor you should pay attention to. Group menus will be inspired by southwest France as well as the Basque country and the Catalunyan region of northern Spain.
Meant for sharing, the dishes range from snacks to plates. We’re especially intrigued by the Getaria anchovies with balsamic and chilli paste and the veal sweetbreads, nettles and vin jaune. For pudding, we’d go for the warm chocolate tart, served with Black Mountain whisky from the southwest of France – yum.
