There’s been a pub in this EC1 location since 1790, but in January
The Coach reopened with a more food-focused offering under the helm of Henry Harris (formerly Racine) and James McCulloch (owner of Marylebone’s
The Harcourt).
Exclusive hire of the different areas (the pub, the back room, and the dining room) are all options with a hire fee, but we particularly like The Blue Room which seats private groups of up to 10 in a quaint, yet sophisticated setting.
Guests can expect seasonal European dishes like grilled rabbit with mustard sauce and smoked bacon, as well as Harris’s signature steak tartare. Wines from France and Italy are a particular strongpoint, and there are plenty of pints from craft breweries like Timothy Taylor and Portobello Brewery.
Interiors feature vintage artwork, an oak-panelled bar, stained-glass windows and leather banquettes.
