We finally have more details on this soon-to-be-open
Indian barbecue restaurant and drinking tavern in the City.
The inspiration for the sociable, fun-loving venue comes from the army mess bars of India. Inside, guests can expect fun additions such as a pool table room, live sport screenings, a whisky vending machine, playing cards and a shoeshining attendant in the reception.
Groups can enjoy these while also taking advantage of the restaurant’s two private dining rooms: along a corridor, decorated with rhino motif tiles and monkey-shaped alabaster wall lights, lie The Kukri Room and The Bidi Room. These spaces will seat groups of eight and 14 respectively.
But what about the food? Considering Brigadiers is part of JKS Restaurants (the same team that operates Michelin-starred
Trishna and
Gymkhana, as well as
Hoppers,
Lyle’s and
Bao), it’s likely to be pretty darn good.
Tandoors, charcoal grills, rotisseries, wood ovens and smokers will be behind most of the dishes on the menu, and there will be group feasting options like a whole suckling lamb biryani. We also like the sound of dry masala rib eye steak and tandoori chicken chop dopiaza.
