It’s big news for the swanky Mayfair stalwart as multi-Michelin-star Heinz Beck will soon open an Italian restaurant within the Albemarle Street premises to replace Hix Mayfair.
We’re not overly surprised, as Beck did a pop-up in the five-star hotel just before Christmas. We’re pretty excited about it, though: each of the hotel’s six private dining spaces will be serviced by Beck’s simple Italian menu.
Expect the likes of roasted veal sweetbreads with fava beans, peas and artichokes to start, followed by a very attractive looking red mullet ‘sandwich’ with black olive & tarragon.
Room capacities range from 8 to 70. For something intimate, we’ve always liked the 14-seated Lord Byron Room.
The opening was announced not long after news that the hotel’s bar will get a freshening up at the hands of cocktail godfather Salvatore Calabrese.
