To arrange a private party at L'Escargot is to invite your guests to a Soho institution. London's oldest French restaurant, it has sat at the heart of the West End since 1927 and been frequented by everyone from Coco Chanel to Mick Jagger - so you can be sure you'll be in good company.
Step inside the main restaurant and the vibe is sumptuous, historic and somewhat eccentric, in a fabulous way. Jewel-toned walls are set against swirl-patterned carpet and white tablecloth-covered tables, for a classic feel. L'Escargot is well versed in the art of private dining and the restaurant boasts four exclusive-use spaces.
Salon Vert is the largest space with a capacity of 40 people seated and 45 standing. As the name suggests, the space is hued a lively green which stands out against plush gold curtains and gold-toned ceiling cornicing, too. For a similarly-sized celebration, The Library, also on the first floor, has a capacity of 30 people seated and 45 standing. A darker, more intimate space, this is a gorgeous spot for a special dinner or even wedding breakfast.
On the second floor, The Blue Room is perfect for a small dinner for up to 12 people. Its eclectic selection of artworks are a real feature and contribute to the space's unique aesthetic. Finally, if you were imagining a slightly more casual affair of drinks and nibbles, The Snail Bar is a bright, quirky space for standing receptions and can host an impressive 60 people.
Of course, L'Escargot isn't just known for its interiors and by choosing this historic venue as the setting for your next event your guest's will also be treated to an indulgent menu of French classics. From duck and guinea fowl terrine with cornichons to poached sea trout with fennel and tarragon beurre blanc, it's set to be a delicious night.
