There are a bunch of reasons why you could be looking to host guests for private dining – maybe you’re looking to celebrate a gold wedding anniversary and need just the place to celebrate, or have a reason to round up your colleagues to discuss an upcoming project over a few bottles of your favourite wine. Whatever the case, the main thing to consider is the venue. Private dining at Humble Grape Battersea offers the chance to dine in a restaurant and wine bar with over 400 incredible global wines. The location couldn’t be better, located near Clapham Common and Clapham Junction station.
The restaurant is split over two storeys, with space upstairs for 20 guests on a mezzanine floor, a downstairs area for 30 seated guests, and the option to hire Humble Grape in its entirety for a private dining event with 60 guests. It’s a charming venue, and wine is clearly what Humble Grape does best. Inside, you’ll spot shelves with bottles, walls clad with cork, and a bar made from old Champagne riddling racks.
Private dining menus at Humble Grape Battersea are all about Mediterranean dining. It comes in the form of a set menu, with starters like baba ganoush with nduja and sourdough, mains of seared sea bream with leek fricassee, and desserts such as chocolate cheesecake with rhubarb coulis.
There are also several sharing boards to choose from. Wine and cheese purists might go for a cheese and charcuterie board with a selection of brilliant types and artisan charcuterie served with homemade breads, while the more adventurous might opt for a butchers board of grilled harissa chicken, marinated steak, sausage rolls, and serrano ham croquettes. There’s a vegetarian board too, with plant-based chorizo, mushroom and herb rolls, padron peppers and arancini.
