The second site for much-loved Japanese restaurant Flesh & Buns finds its home in Fitzrovia, handily located on the corner of Berners Street and Goodge Street and close to various transport links. This location differs from the original Flesh & Buns in Covent Garden because alongside the expected Izakaya (Japanese pub) experience, the menu also explores Nikkei cuisine, which is a fusion of Peruvian ingredients with traditional Japanese culinary methods.
Flesh & Buns Oxford Circus is available to hire for all manner of private dining occasions, including both the corporate and personal, and boasts a dedicated private dining room. The space features one long rectangular table set out in a Kotatsu-style, with diners able to tuck their legs beneath the table while sitting on padded backless bench-style seating. A trio of large mirrors on one wall bounce light around the space, while wooden pillars on the other side blend the atmosphere of the main restaurant with the private dining space. Flesh & Buns Oxford Circus’s private dining room can host up to 36 guests for a sit-down meal, so the space is well suited to the likes of business meetings, milestone birthday dinners, or family reunions.
The menu at Flesh & Buns Oxford Circus consists of an array of small plates, sushi and raw dishes, steamed bao buns and fresh poke. Tuck into the likes of a crispy piglet belly bao bun with mustard miso and apple pickle or California rolls stuffed with crab meat and avocado, while puddings see salted caramel chocolate fondant served alongside matcha ice cream. As for the drinks, guests in the private dining room can take their pick from Flesh & Bun’s wide-ranging selection of cocktails, bubbles, Japanese whiskey, sake and more, while there are fun mocktails and a range of fresh fruit juices for those choosing to stay away from alcohol.
