Transport your guests to Mexico, even if just for the night, at lively, Latin-inspired restaurant El Pastor Battersea. If you're not familiar with the El Pastor chain, it's quite the story as both of its founders previously ran a cult nightclub in Mexico City and decided to continue its legacy witha small group of restaurants here in London. Authenticity is a big part of the concept here with tortillas made in-house daily using heritage Mexican corn and a transparent, sustainable supply chain with small farmers and growers.
There are four El Pastor locations but it's the swanky Battersea Power Station branch which benefits from an incredible private dining space, perfect for hosting up to 26 guests, split across one table of 14 and one table of 12. Here, you'll find a large, light-filled space, decorated with flora and fauna as a nod to the botanical and greenhouse gardens across Mexico City. The space even comes dressed with fresh flowers and candles, making it event ready without the need to raise a finger.
Private parties are invited to dine from the selection of feasting menus which are to be shared between the table. The snag here is that you'll all have to agree on only one, which might be tricky considering the team have worked hard to provide lots of delicious-sounding choices.
You can choose between a focus on short rib, a pescatarian menu, ribeye-themed selection, vegetarian option or lean into ceviche, with the contramar menu. All can be viewed online ahead of time, but for an idea of what to expect, the short rib offering includes guacomole and salsas for the table, as well as 24 hour marinated free-range pork shoulder and grilled pineapple tacos and raw yellowfin tuna tostada. This is followed by a sharer of grass fed Angus short rib, braised for 12 hours and served with refried beans, avocado leaf and cheese, as well as a sweet of crisp glazed fresh corn cake served with
home-made roasted corn ice cream.
